The Envelope, Please...

Mark Streeter is the political cartoonist for the Savannah Morning News and I met him the other night when he was seated across the table from me at a wine/food gathering with a musical theme at Hangfire here in Savannah, GA. That night's theme was Cuba and the music was from the Buena Vista Social Club album. I told him that I have hung some of his wonderful cartoons on my fridge over the years and he said that hearing that is one of the rewards of his job. We were also all discussing the Oscars while we ate Cuban delectables and drank fine wine and so maybe our passionate discussion influenced today's cartoon (seen above), which is dead on and excellent.
