C'mon America, Even the "World Wants Kerry for President!"

Feeling left out of the debate, the WORLD chimed in and said,"That Beef-Witted-Bible-Quoting-Dry-Drunk-Fratboy you people call your leader has got to GO!"

I agree! Do You?

I certainly agree! If the world agrees, then I'm all in. I think we should let the whole world vote. Actually, we shouldn't even vote for a president, we should just give the Oval Office to whomever holds the gavel in the U.N.

Seriously though, who can argue with the opinions of such countries as Indonesia, Brazil, China, Mexico, Nigeria, and Thailand? Or better yet, Germany and France! There's the bandwagon I want to hitch a ride on. Vive la resistance!

The best part about the article you present is Steven Kull's quote: "Kerry would win handily if the people of the world were to elect the U.S. President." I'm surprised Mr. Kull didn't take into consideration the possibility of alien life-forms that could someday be discovered and would surely vote for John Kerry, because they love him and because they would definitely care. According to a recent Jim Henson poll, 79% of all Fraggle-Rock residents likewise would choose John Kerry over George Bush, which further substantiates Mr. Kull's claim.

The connotation of this article is that the majority of U.S. residents are baffoons, and the rest of the world (you know, primarily socialists, communists, and uneducated third-world countries) are much more qualified to make an educated decision on the world-power-U.S. election race. Of course, since its the BBC reporting this, is anyone surprised?

I'm not entirely surprised, although this article is REALLY bad. I'd put it somewhere between something you'd find in the Washington Post and the National Enquirer. Regardless, I definitely wouldn't count on any stock-tips located anywhere NEAR this article.

What kind of a lousy fluff-filled article is this to link to? By all means, express your opinion, but when you do, try to express YOUR opinion! Too many people fall into the "me-too" category and lose sight of issues that really matter, and fall in line with silly articles like this, thus demeaning the election process to a mere popularity contest.

Josh - there is no humor in your neo-con veins. There is no humor in Iraq either or at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. There is a lot of anger, intolerance, rascism, greed, and a deep seated self-loathing brought on via the dim knowledge that hating the things you don't understand only burns a wider hole into your souless gut.

Cheers.

And what does that have to do with the fact that this is a preposterous and silly article? Its something I'd expect to find in a high-school newspaper, not "legitimate" press. If you read my comments, you'll see from start to finish, that is the point being made. You're making assumptions about opinions you believe me to hold, rather than statements I made in my post.

Seriously, the highlighted quote of this article is a Maryland University undergrad's statement that the world would vote for Kerry. The only other place that I'd expect to find a link to this article would be at FARK.COM.

I understand and I respect your opinions and points of view. I chose this post to respond to, in particular, because it was irresponsible and unrealistic of you to use it as a legitimate source.

To each their own, I've always said. Regardless of anyone's opinion, I always hold respect for people who can provide a legitimate foundation for their argument. In this one instance, I feel you made an error in judgement, and you essentially became a cheerleader instead of a voter. Behavior like this is the lowest common denominator of the election process, in my humble opinion (and on EITHER side of the fence).

I enjoy reading your Blog, and appreciate your comments. You're usually more judicious than this post, however.

Josh,
I hope your racist, elist-snob comments are meant to be ironic. I don't think its funny. And by the way, get your facts straight. Steven Kull is the director of Maryland's Program on International Policy Attitudes (PIPA). Not an "undergraduate." See, and you also insulted undergrads! Way to go, asshole.

You're right, I probably did insult undergrads!

You have an inability to be objective, and I pity you for that. You're likely not hearing 50% of what people say, but I'm sure you always manage to hear just what you want to.

You know nothing about me, but to this I can assure you: I am entirely not racist, and that is the only thing you have said thus far that I take offense to. I suppose keeping it intellectual is beyond your capability. Lobbing unfounded insults and plugging your ears is obviously much more comfortable for you.

Good luck in all your endeavors; particularly your ignorance.
