Concede Nothing!
Kerry just conceded. Now I know what it must feel like to be a black person in America. The overwhelming and profound sense of dissapointment that I feel right now is enhanced by an even deeper sense of powerlessness. Is this how some people felt in Berlin in say, the mid 1930s? Did they sense the writing on the wall? The smart ones did, left and lived. The hate-herd stuck around, whooped it up at all night rallies and were eventually squashed and tossed on the dung heap of horrific human history. Was last nights Republican take-over a black shade of 1936? I hope not, but I fear for all of us. The radical right now runs the show and the word radical is actually quite tame to say the least.
America went to the looking glass last night and the scab incrusted monster it saw staring back is an easily spooked, mean-spirited, coal-hearted angry homophobe standing on a stack of bibles and wrapped up in a cheap nylon American flag bought at Wal-Mart.
This monster is prone to spout out and fully accept its dim-witted rhetorical sputum of hateful intolerance, chest-thumping war chants and old testament bile all in the name of its myopic sense of self-righteousness. This monster is now completely in charge of our nations destiny.
If you thought the last four years were fucked up, wait until January when all these Red Staters get sworn in, roll up their sleeves, pull out their long knives and begin carving up the Bill of Rights. The constitution has always been an annoyance to these people and they'd love nothing more than to set about making some clean edits.
Justice Renquist can now officially expire with the firm knowledge that his replacement will be just as, if not more, jack-booted as he is.
We are really fucked now.
I really thought we were going to win this one. Four more fucking YEARS?!! Please wake me from this nightmare!
Stacy thinks a Hillary Clinton/Obama ticket in 2008 might rile the troops. Two representatives of two of the most fucked over segments of our society. Who knows. Europe or Canada is looking better and better. Political Asylum?
